Beauty Trends for Fall/Winter 2018
Beauty trends come and go along with the seasons and some of the looks I have gathered from within the industry are oh so exciting this time around. Technology of course is becoming synonymous with more and more industries and beauty is no exception. Brands are now able to offer more inclusive products than ever before and with that comes personalized and bespoke beauty products. The brand Cosmetics a la Cart is doing just that by offering their customers who visit their London based store, custom blended makeup that suits not only their coloring but also their specific skin needs. Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all makeup.
The Fall/Winter 2018 fashion runways were also reflecting this trend with different looks on models at some shows instead of all of the models wearing identical makeup looks. Of course there were the old Fall standbys such as dark berry lips with an otherwise bare face however there were a few new and fresh trends for Fall. You could find a dramatic eyeliner at Saint Laurent that echoed the strong 80s fashions seen strutting the catwalk. There was also a lot of color, such as bright liner and matching lashes at Dries Van Noten and Prada.
2018 also seems to be the year of glossy skin and eyes. A sheen and a glow (not highlighter mind you) are the perfect way to add a gleam to your face while remaining fresh and as natural as possible. I recommend trying Milk Cosmetics Face Gloss or Linda Hallberg Cosmetics Infinity Glass to add just the right amount of shine without looking greasy. Another great way to add a sheen to your cheeks and eyes is with lipstick, many makeup artists have been using this trick for years but making a product as multi-use as possible is a great way to streamline your makeup bag and bring life back to your tried and true favorite lippy. I’m looking forward to creating some new looks this season and can’t wait to sip a hot cocoa with a dark berry lip (maybe dot some and blend it into the apples of my cheeks) with a perfectly bare and glowy face to match. I hope you enjoy the season beautifully!
